Karaoke isn't something that usually causes death (though maybe it should sometimes), but today isn't a usual day. Weenus Chumkamnerd, a 52 year old male Thai, got so fed up with his neighbor's Karaoke party that, after warning the group that if they didn't quite down, he'd "come back and finish them off." Well, he did just that to Dr. Suthathip Thammachart and 7 of her guests, even shooting his own brother-in-law.
"When I began shooting nobody pleaded for his life because they were all drunk," he said after his arrest.Dr. Thammachart held these types of parties often, according to The Telegraph, and it seems as though Weenus just snapped. The article also states that John Denver's "Country Roads" (apparently a hugely popular song in Thailand and the rest of South-East Asia) was a karaoke favorite of the doctor and her parties and could often be heard when she had people over. This means that not only is that John Denver full of shit, but also a little pinch of karaoke homicide.
This is such a ridiculous story that I could not pass it up. Everyone has always thought of doing something about that noisy neighbor you have, but seriously, is killing everyone in the room necessary (except for the one guy who played possum and lived)?? That quote is something straight out of Hannibal Lectur's mouth..."A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti." Just creepy
